Riot on an Empty Street

I'm so glad that everybody else updates their xangas!  It's great to get my daily xanga reports with everybody's snippets of info on their daily experiences, etc.  I finally decided that I should probably update too!

This semester is going well so far.  A whole lot more enjoyable than last year.  My classes are a lot more difficult, but that's to be expected I guess.  I've finally gotten to the point where I'm figuring out what I might want to do in my life, at least career wise, that is.  I'm majoring in Accounting and doing a minor in Sociology.  I really enjoy my sociology class this semester: Race and Ethnic Relations.  It's very interesting; it almost reminds me of World Studies.  I would have probably switched my major to sociology, but I've decided that I can do so much more with a business major in influencing different social policies and structural decisions than with simply a sociology major.  I'm still not exactly sure what I want to do, but I've figured out that much so I guess that's good for now.

As far as it goes with the rest of my family, things are busy.  Bethany is now a senior at HFA which is a scary thought!  She has not decided yet which college she will attend, but as far as I know, has narrowed it down to St. Andrews University in Scotland, Richmond University of London, England, Biola University in California, and Moody in Chicago, so we'll see what happens!  My dad is still traveling between the U.S. and India for work, so is away a lot.  My mum is going to travel to India for about two weeks with him sometime soon.  She is also going to Australia for about a month in the beginning of next year, so she will be doing a lot of traveling.  I wish I was going, but I'll get my chance to travel when I go to London for my Fall semester of my Junior year.  I'm so excited I'll pee my pants!  I really can't wait, but I'll be working heaps in advance to pay for it!

I need to go to a SGA meeting soon so I will update later but that's a bit of inf about what's happening in my life at the moment.

Insurance for Dummies

So, I am sitting here at work in my lovely big leather desk chair, where I am supposed to be entering data into the computer, and in doing so, working dilligently.  Yet, alas, I am on Xanga!  Lol! I said I would update more so I figured what better time to do that than now, when I am supposed to be working!

I had a fantastic time at Fall Creek Falls on Saturday with everyone, I only wish that more people could have been able to make it, but it was a awesome time anyway!! It was great to be able to catch up with everyone and chat.  I can't wait till we get to do it again.

This summer has gone by so quickly already, although it feels like it just began! My days have been filled with working at an insurance company in Brentwood.  I'm now an official expert at peak-hour traffic!!  It's mostly clerical work and secretarial stuff, but in July I'm officially going to be licensed to sell insurance. Crazy stuff, huh! It's interesting work and will be even more so when I start selling, plus it means more money for college, so YAY!!!

Other than work, there's not much time for anything else.  On Tuesday and Thursday nights I take a economics class at Nashville State, which has been pretty boring so far, to say the least.  But I did get to meet one of Briana's friends, Giovanni, from Belmont in that class and he's a trip!  My dad has been in India for the past month for his work, and he'll be over there on and off for the next 8 months so be praying that he'll be safe and that he will be able to accomplish all that he needs to.

Well, I better get back to work before someone notices I'm on Xanga and not an Excel spreadsheet!

Hasta luego amigos!!!!

I want my life to be exciting!  I don't want to be resigned to living a life of conformity or routine.  I want to be comfortable but not in a state of boring sameness.

I'm going to London!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
